Senator Robert Casey (D-PA) is working to make sure a Stupak-esque amendment is added to the Senate version of the health care bill.
Why this makes me angry:
- This is restricting funds for women’s health for the same redundant reasons that the Stupak amendment did (namely, that abortion CANNOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES be federally funded, so this is killing women’s health, essentially, for shits and giggles).
- This isn’t likely to get the bill any additional votes. At. All.
- I spent 8 hours walking my ass all over Scranton to campaign for him in 2006. And, overall, he’s a pretty good senator.
Ugh. This bill is such a fail.
